After spending seven years honing his craft with a local residential carpentry company, Jay felt the pull to build something of his own. In 2012 he took the leap and launched his business—originally called Skye Carpentry—driven by a deepening passion for the work that had already taken root. What began as a job grew into a true love for the art of carpentry, especially the quiet satisfaction that comes from flawless trim work. For Jay, it’s all in the details: perfect miters, crisp reveals, and the kind of precision that turns a house into a home.

He’s most at home with tools in his hands, shaping wood and solving problems one cut at a time. There’s a special joy in watching a client’s vision take shape—from the first conversation to the final reveal—and nothing beats the moment a project is complete and he sees the smile on a homeowner’s face. That reaction is what keeps him excited to start the next job.

In 2019, Jay rebranded the company to Jay’s Carpentry, a name that felt more personal and better reflected the craftsmanship, integrity, and care he pours into every project.

When he’s not on a job site, Jay enjoys life in Dacula, Georgia, with his wife and their two children, balancing the rewards of hard work with the people who matter most.
